Jason Kotecki is an artist who speaks. Really, really well! He is an expert at help- ing people “Escape Adulthood,” in order to restore balance, beat burnout, and be- come more innovative by breaking rules that don’t exist. His mission is to fight Adultitis, sharing strategies from childhood to create lives with less stress and more success. Jason is passionate about sharing his message that there is more to life than the hectic busyness, cynical lethargy and overwhelming stress that is typi- cal of most modern lives. Jason's inspiring, entertaining and heart-warming pro- grams are visual masterpieces jam-packed with relevant, practical information coated in fun.

His book“Penguins Can’t Fly +39 Other Rules That Don’t Exist,” is a delightful book that will help you uncover and break the so-called rules that could be holding you back from a life of awesome. It’s a magical combination of Jason’s whimsical illustrations, humorous wit, and poignant anecdotes. It explores small but mighty actions you can take to turn your life into the fun, adventurous and exciting story you deserve.

All of this began as a simple love story. Jason first drew his lovable characters for his girlfriend Kim sometime before the turn of the century. They shared a kindred childlike spirit, and Jason used the drawings, which represented the couple as chil- dren, on many homemade gifts designed to win her heart. Luckily for him, this downright sappy ploy helped him to not only win her heart, but also her hand in marriage. The characters took on lives of their own in a comic strip and in 2000, the real Kim and Jason decided to build a company to share the artwork and its in- spiring message. The strip was officially retired in 2007, but the wild ride to rid the world of Adultitis has continued on at full speed.

Dr. Lisa Kreber
Senior Neuroscientist/Research Coordinator Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS) Clinical Research & Education Foundation (CREF)

Dr. Lisa Kreber has worked in the field of brain injury since 1999. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa and then went to the University of Colorado at Boulder where she received her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience. Upon completion of her degrees, Dr. Kreber began her current position as senior neuroscientist and research coordinator for the Centre for Neuro Skills. Dr. Kreber is involved in developing clinical and research protocols, mentoring clinician-researchers at CNS, and working with patients and therapists to optimize patient outcomes after brain injury. In 2009, Dr. Kreber became a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS).

Dr. Kreber is the Director of the Clinical Research and Education Foundation (CREF) at Centre for Neuro Skills. This foundation focuses on developing research collaborations with other facilities and universities around the country to better serve individuals with brain injury. Dr. Kreber has contributed to the field of brain injury via several publications and speaking at brain-injury related conferences. Her professional interests include predicting outcome following brain injury, neuroendocrine dysfunction, and neuroimaging.

For greater than 25 years I have worked with individuals with disability in therapeutic recreation, I have developed strong skills in organizing, managing, and developing various documention, evaluation, and treatment strategies.  I am a dedicated advocate of recreation as an intervention to meet the needs of various populations.


                  1981 –1985         Bachelor’s of Science Degree in therapeutic recreation with a minor in sociology from Oklahoma State University.

                  1987 – 1991        Master’s of Science Degree in therapeutic recreation from Oklahoma State University.


                  2003 – present – Director of Member Services at The Center for Individual with Physical Challenges;  Review all applications for membership, evaluation of all new members and oversee re-evaluation.  Supervise the Outreach and Transitional Services program.

                  1996 – 2003 -Recreational Therapist III at St. John’s Healthcare Systems;  Responsible for evaluation, documentation, and providing appropriate interventions with patients on a physical rehabilitation unit.  Also provide education and training to patients and their families relating to community re-entry and leisure needs.  Function as an internship supervisor.

                  1992 – 1996 -Activities Therapy Director at Laureate Psychiatric Hospital;  Organize and manage activities therapies program implemented by recreational, occupational, and art therapist.  Responsibilities include: quality assurance, employee evaluation, annual budget, program evaluation, policy and procedure development, and facility management in accordance with accrediting agencies.

Cathy Young, RN BC RAC-CT

Clinical Director, Phoenix Healthcare

Cathy Young is the Director of Clinical Services at Phoenix Healthcare LLC with responsibility for coordination of clinical operations, clinical leadership development, training, coordination of regulatory compliance, and policy and procedure development.

Young brings more than 31 years of long-term/skilled experience to the industry. She joined Phoenix Healthcare in 2009 from Tulsa Nursing Center, where she served as the Director of Nursing for that long-term care facility for 27 years, leading that team to positive clinical outcomes and excellent survey results.

Clinical education includes licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, prior to becoming a Registered Nurse. Further, Young holds certification in Gerontological Nursing from the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center, is a licensed nursing home administrator, and a certified Resident Assessment Coordinator. Recently, she obtained status as an INTERACT instructor through training at the Florida Atlantic University and is able to train and educate on this system for safely preventing avoidable re-hospitalizations.
