7:30am - Working with Individuals Experiencing Human Trafficking

Sara E. Gadd, MA

Sara Gadd is the Human Trafficking Program Director for Ascension St. John in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Services: Marriage and Family. For the past 13 years, Ms. Gadd has been educating first responders, community members, and legislators while reaching out to those who are experiencing human trafficking. In 2018, Sara assisted with the implementation of the Ascension St. John Human Trafficking Education and Response Program and has managed the program full-time for the past 6+ years. Ms. Gadd is the chair of the Oklahoma Coalition Against Human Trafficking (OCAT).

Carolyn Reconnu-Shoffner, RN, BSN, CCM

Carolyn is the Deputy State Medicaid Director at Oklahoma HealthCare Authority (OHCA). She received her nursing education from Theil College in Greenville, PA and has been a Certified Case Manager since 1996.

Kimberly Allison, MA

Kimberly is a District Director for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Kimberly received her Masters in Science with an emphasis in Human Services/Marriage and Family Services from Liberty University. She is also a board certified mental health coach.

12:00pm - Grieving and Selfcare for Healthcare Workers

Daniel Grimes, D.Min., M.Div.

Daniel is the Founder of HeartMend: The Life Recovery Center of Oklahoma in Tulsa. He serves as a life recover specialist educating individuals and groups about how to understand and process grief and loss of all types; including: death, divorce, broken relationships, career, addiction recovery, and health loss. He attended Oral Roberts University where he received a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree.

1:45pm - Social Determinants of Health and Their Impact on Chronic Wounds

Jason Gray, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Jason is the Director of Education at a community wound care practice where he is developing an accredited wound care program to provide both experiential and didactic learning to enhance the knowledge and skills of clinicians in his area to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Gray has also served as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program where he taught quality improvement research courses. Public service endeavors include being a founding member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Taskforce for the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center and the Kansas Palliative Care and Quality of Life Advisory Committee as co-Chair of the Education and Outreach Committee. Areas of research interest include innovative simulation education, best practices for caring for historically underserved populations, and inclusive health care strategies for diverse populations.

Imane Rose

Imane is a managing partner at Purview Life. She received her International Business degree from the University of Michigan. Growing up under the nurturing care of her grandmother paved the way for a profound commitment to a career centered around the evolving challenges of aging. She has volunteered extensively at nursing homes and continuum of care facilities. Imane has served as a board member at the Tristesee Grief Center and has facilitated a support group for the Alzheimer’s Association for the past 8 years. Additionally, her involvement as a board member at f.a.c.e.s and on the advisory board for the Triad Committee and the Interagency Council of Tulsa reflects her commitment to diverse initiatives. The Triad Committee, initiated 14 years ago at the Mayor’s behest, aims to unite law enforcement, local agencies, and volunteer organizations to safeguard seniors against fraud and exploitation. Imane’s mission is rooted in raising awareness about the pressing issues stemming from the unprecedented aging of our population. By advocating for a deeper understanding of these challenges, she strives to contribute to societal solutions.
